With 3 months of school left, things in the Health Office are very busy, collecting current physicals for the senior students, keeping their health information current to send to their respective high schools. In addition, Kelly & I are preparing for the new school year, 2020-21′, reminding parents of current physicals and immunizations required for the state. If your child will be going for their physicals in the beginning of the year, please send in a copy to update their medical records as these will “count” for the new school year.
We have received many 3rd and 6th physicals and 6th grade immunizations. The Universal Health Form can be downloaded fro our website. Also, those entering grade 6 will need their Menatra and Tdap upon entering grade 6, if they are the proper age.
Upcoming will be Scoliosis Screenings for the 5th & 7th graders in May. Permission slips will be sent home in April, if you would rather have this screening done by the pediatrician, please note this on the permission slip & we will not screen those students. A current copy of their physical will be required to show documentation screening has been done, (generally done during their physical).
Field Day will also take place in May, and a notice regarding those students will allergies to take their medication as prescribed by their physicians to prevent symptoms of allergies.
As a reminder, all medication to be dispensed at school will require a Medication Authorization to be completed by the physician & signed by you, even those over the counter medications. Thank you all for your cooperation.
We are full swing into cold and allergy season, remember to keep your child home if they are sent home with fever for 24 hours, fever free with no medication. It has been noted that many students come to school after being given medication, only to begin to feel sick by 11:00! Please keep your child home in order to help prevent others from becoming sick. Once again, we appreciate your consideration.
Thank you for helping us to keep the students’ healthy, so they may learn!
We all work as a team and look forward to keeping the students well, safe and secure. We want the students to always feel they can come to the health office, as we are their advocates first and foremost. Please feel free to drop by the Health Office with any questions or concerns. You can now call the health office directly, just call the main number, 201 487-8641 and our extension is 236.
