Welcome to our Health Updates! Time is just flying by, here we are in the holiday season. Currently we are doing “screenings” for the students’ and making sure we have all physicals and immunizations up to date. Thank you to all parents who have been sending in the required forms.
The weather has been very warm for this season, hence we are seeing many students’ who have been diagnosed with the flu, viruses with fever. Please remember, all students’ who go home due to fever need to be fever free for 24 hours without medication. Fever is the body’s way of “fighting off” germs leading to illness. This is the reason the students’ need to be fever free for 24 hours.
Now that the weather is cold enough, allergies are not too much of a problem, but asthma related symptoms are common from students’ recovering from cough and colds. If your child will be requiring the nebulizer or inhaler, please make sure all forms have been filled out and medication has been sent in. Thank you.
As always, the best prevention of sharing illnesses is hand washing! All students’ who come into the Health Office wash their hands and we offer them water to maintain hydration for optimal health.
Thank you for helping us to keep the students’ healthy, so they may learn!
We all work as a team and look forward to keeping the students well, safe and secure. We want them to always feel they can come to us with anything as we are their advocates first and foremost. Please feel free to drop by the Health Office with any questions or concerns.
Enjoy a blessed happy holiday!
