The beginning of the school year is both exciting and hectic.
New students and their families are getting acquainted with the St. Joseph Academy community. The ‘Back To School Bash’ and the parent ‘Meet and Greet’ were very successful.
This year St. Joseph Academy is part of an Archdiocesan program call Map Growth Testing. This is a new approach to standardized testing. It is a 3 phase test model and I am proud of our children for being open to the new process. They have completed phase 1! The process was new to both faculty and students yet everyone involved did a great job!
If it’s October it is pumpkin time. Students visited the “SJA Pumpkin Patch”, picked their perfect pumpkin and are planning their Halloween costumes. The annual parade of costumes will take place on Halloween morning.
The Student Council induction ceremony took place on Friday, October 4, 2019. Officers and class representatives have pledged to lead the student body by positive example.
The Student Council and National Junior Honor Society are organizing service projects as the holiday season approaches.
A collection of food items for the St. Joseph Parish food pantry will begin shortly as well as a coat drive with items collected donated to St. John’s Soup Kitchen in Newark where our students volunteer.
We are a blessed community and as we give thanks for our many blessings let us remember those who are less fortunate and help where we can.
