Physical education 4/8 and 4/9 Grades PK# to grade 3: cancelled……Because of the half day and our usual Stations of the Cross, we would not have had gym anyway and I was asked to cancell it. I’m sorry but keep working hard and staying active. Don’t for get to continue with your logs and checklists.
Great job last week with the different workouts we did with the PK’s to 3rd grade.

Physical Education 4/1 and 4/2/2020
Today, I am posting another resource for you to use for physical activity. This guy along with Coach Wood, which I posted on March 23rd have been doing workouts each day since we started this virtual learning. Check it out.
This week I will use the Zoom Meeting to discuss any questions the children may have and to see how they are doing with their fitness logs. We will then do some fitness activities using fitness cards that I usually use for fitness stations. This will be for grades PK to grade 3. Google Classroom will be used for grades 4 to 8. Rember to DEAM (DROP EVERYTHING AND MOVE!) Don’t forget the Zoom schedule is below. I am also going to post Yoga Mindfulness. This is a website that takes the principals and practices of yoga for kids and implements it in a way that is visually fun and interactive. It has varying times fo routines and different skill levels which are suitable for all age groups. Simply select and do.
I have also included PK3 and PK4 into the schedule and will begin those meetings with them on Wednesday and Thursday. Instructions and my meeting ID are below where you see*************************……Special announcement……….**********************

Mr. K wants to have a Zoom cloud meeting with grades PK to 3. The time will be at or near the time gym class usually meets. Here is the schedule and just so you know, we will meet each week at these times until further notice.
PK3: Thursdays 10:00 am
PK4: Wednesdays 10:45 am
K: Thursdays 9:15
First grade: Thursdays 8:15
Second Grade: Thursdays 12:30
Third Grade: Thursdays 1:30

PK to grade 3: If you have’t started your Physical Education Activity Log please start it on Monday or as soon as possible. The link is at the bottom of this page on last weeks plans. Date it and do the log for two weeks and then have mom or dad or you screen shot it, email it or send it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. It needs to be done and handed in. I will continue to send different links to sites you can get ideas for different activities to do both on line and off line. I am also including a Healthy Habits Checklist for you to do and again, hand in when the week is done. Be honest when you fill out the log and checklist because it is your body you are trying to take care of. If you guys want to do some 20 minute exercise routines using things around the house go to YouTube and search PE with Coach Wood. There are five 20 minute videos to choose from. Wednesday classes: PK4 and 4th to 8th grade
Thursdays classes: PK3 and K to 3rd grade
Here is a link which you all can use to stay active at home. I would also like to have grade 2 continue to work on balancing for 20 seconds on one foot and then the other. When we get back in the building, you will be tested on it. Grades PK3 to grade 2 can also review the same balancing skills as part of a daily exercise routine. All grades (PK3 to grade 3) viewing this web page can try to keep active inside as well as outside if you can. Walking is great even if it is around the house, inside or out. Remember some of the warm ups we do in class and try them at home. Remember how we showed you to do sit ups and do some at home. This link will give you more things to do while you are at home. Try to set some time aside each day for some physical exercise.

Below is a link to use to download an activity log the children can use to keep track of the different activities they do for 2 weeks. I will be collecting them when we get back to school. Since we haven’t back to school, these can be photoed and sent to my email after two weeks. The DEAM calendar refers to Drop Everything And Move. I will go over this in the Zoom Meeting.
