Grade 3 to 8: NJCCCS: 2.2, 2.5, and 2.6
Warm up- Stretching, calisthenics and sprints
Activity: Floor hockey
Continue floor hockey unit. W will review dribbling, passing and fielding, shooting and defensive skills using a 3 on 2 and 3 on 3 offense and defense drill. Since safety is a major concern in this activity, students will be constantly reminded to keep the blade of the stick below the waste when passing, shooting, dribbling and running. If students persist in using the stick improperly, they will be asked to sit out and think about why their behavior/improper use of the stick is dangerous. Their will be no body checks during the unit and rough play will not be tolerated either. The teacher will again be tracking how many times the students have been warned about improper use of the stick.
Play the lead up game side line floor hockey. The teacher will pick teams, discuss safety as usual and go over the rules and boundaries for the game. Students will play 2 on 2 or 3 on 3 with no goal tenders for 1 min. or until a goal is scored.
Happy Easter to all and enjoy the time off.
