Chapter 17 “Showing Concern for Future Generations” The students will learn that, as members of the Catholic Church, we are called by the popes to practice peace, truth & peace.

Chapter 26 “America & World War II”(1939-1945)Sect. 2-5 The students will be able to describe how America entered and ended the war & its impact on the world.

Chapter 18 “Penance & Anointing of the Sick” The students will learn that Jesus Christ offers God’s forgiveness & healing for all our sins & sufferings.

Chapter 10 “Growth & Expansion”, Sect. 2 “Westward Bound” The students will be able to explain how land and water transportation affected westward expansion.

Chapter 18 “A Strong People” The students will learn how after the the people of God returned to Judah, they struggled to maintain political & religious independence.

Social Studies: (LP,MP, & V = writing Locating Places, Meeting People & vocabulary for the section in their notebooks)
Chapter 11 ” Islamic Civilization” Sect. 1 “The Rise of Islam.” The students will be able to describe how the religion of Islam originated in Arabia, and is based on the teachings of the prophet Muhammad.
Monday: Introduce Chapter 11.2
