- Friday, December 14, Grinch Day in 1st grade
- Students are to bring in morning snack and lunch (or lunch order form with lunch money)
- Please check your child’s green homework book and classwork folder every night
- Please bring in all school supplies and five sharpened pencils everyday!
Monday: Science lab and Music
Tuesday: Art and Spanish
Thursday: Gym (students are to come to school in their gym uniforms)
*Lesson Plans for the week of _12/10:
SuperKids: Students will work with Superkids book, “Adventures of the Superkids” Students will continue to practice decoding and blending sounds. They will learn predictable patterns, rules to read and spell challenging words. Students will begin to read longer stories about the Superkids in their readers. Students begin Unit 4 and complete lessons 173-176 this week.
Monday: Students will decode words with le, ng, sh, th, and tch sounds; then the students will read and identify rhyming words.
Tuesday: Students will develop phonemic awareness for /er/ and ed and decode words with er and ed endings. Students will understand verbs and use them to understand time of action.
Wednesday: Students will recognize and understand a new group of Red words. Students will recognize and distinguish between nouns and verbs.
Thursday: Students will build vocabulary and background for the story, “In a Pickle.”
Friday: Students will continue with comprehension and fluency in the story, “In a Pickle.”
Math: Progress in Math
Ch. 3: In this chapter children will learn subtraction facts to 12, identify pattern rules and subtraction patterns; relate addition and subtraction and solve two-step problems that involve sequence.
This week’s objectives: Students will begin to write subtraction sentences in both horizontal and vertical forms. Students will identify the difference when subtracting with 10, 11 & 12. Students will subtract from 7, 8, 9, & 10, 11 & 12 in both horizontal and vertical forms. Students will be completing pp.111-118 in their textbook.
Religion: We Believe
Ch. 13 Advent and Chapter 8 Jesus Had Many Followers
This week’s objectives: Students will continue to learn that Advent is the season in which we get ready to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Students will focus on the Lord’s Prayer.
Students will be tested on their Second Lab Unit , “Staying Safe.”
