- Thursday, November 15 – Spirit Day -$1 with gym uniform
- Bring in box of spaghetti or canned tuna for Food Drive for the St. Joseph’s food pantry by November 14
- Students are to bring in morning snack and lunch (or lunch order form with lunch money)
- Please check your child’s green homework book and classwork folder every night
- Please bring in all school supplies and five sharpened pencils everyday!

Thursday: Gym (students are to come to school in their gym uniforms)
*Lesson Plans for the week of 11/12:
SuperKids: Students will work with Superkids book, “Adventures of the Superkids” Students will continue to practice decoding and blending sounds. They will learn predictable patterns and rules to read and spell challenging words. Students will begin to read longer stories about the Superkids in their readers. Students will finish Unit 2 and complete lessons 163-166 this week.
Monday: Students will build vocabulary and background information to begin story, “What a Pet”
Tuesday: Students will continue with the story and work on drawing conclusions and solving riddles.
Wednesday: Students will preview the Student Book for Units 3 & 4. Students will develop phonemic awareness for final/ng/.
Thursday: Students will review new group of “red words”and build background for the next reader story.
Friday: Students will review the spelling of pattern words and encoding words with le.
Math: Progress in Math
Ch. 2: Addition strategies and Facts to 12: In chapter 2 students will: learn that addition is a joining action that involves the combining of two “parts” into a “whole”. The students will add numbers with sums of 12 or less, complete and write addition sentences for sums of 12 or less, and identify patterns of sums to 12. Students will be completing p. 87-92 this week in their textbooks.
This week’s objectives: Students will solve problems by writing a number sentence and use a strategy to solve word problems complete. Chapter 2 Test on Thursday, November 15

Ch. 7 : Ordinary Time
This week’s objectives: Students will learn that we celebrate the life and teachings of Jesus in Ordinary Time
Students will begin their Second Lab Unit , “Staying Safe.” Throughout this unit students will use models to investigate safe habits on the playground, in the science lab, outside and inside the home. Investigation 2: At School
